Beyond the Classroom
Students at Emanyata Secondary School are very committed to their studies. They also enjoy a range of extra-curricular activities that support their health and well-being, opens their minds to local and global issues away from the classroom and gives them practical skills.
Agricultural Projects
Emanyata embeds agriculture within its curriculum. The school has a shamba (farm), a bustani (garden), a small herd of livestock, some chickens and a very productive beekeeping project . Emanyata is working hard to become self-sustaining and some of the livestock is sold to generate income while others are fattened for future sale and repurchase to grow the herd. Additionally the agricultural project, where several fields are used to grow maize and beans, improves food security for the students of Emanyata. The students help maintain the projects under the supervision and guidance of staff while learning the essential skills and disciplines of creating food security for themselves and their families.
